Hello, this month we are featuring the book Self-Compassionate Awareness in our book club.

Most of us have become good at being a good friend or companion.
When our friends are in trouble, we support them, look at them with compassion, pat them on the head, and convey our heartfelt wishes. This is a natural behavior for most of us.
But what about ourselves? When we are struggling, are we able to approach our own needs with the same compassion and kindness? How do we treat ourselves?
For me, showing compassion to others was something I did easily. However, whenever the topic concerned me, I had a hard time being compassionate towards myself. I was very critical of myself and couldn't easily admit my own shortcomings or mistakes.

One day, when I was looking for a book that would help me transform this state of not being at peace with myself, I discovered the Self-Compassionate Awareness Book and Practice Guide. In the book, I found a lot of information and practice to learn how to support myself with compassion and kindness, despite my inner and outer flaws.
Self-compassion teaches me that I cannot be perfect, that I can make mistakes; that I can support myself not only in my successes, but also when I am anxious, struggling, and hurting. If you are having a hard time being friends with yourself, if you are looking for ways to be kind to yourself and can’t find them, you can read the Self-Compassionate Awareness Practice Guide and the Self-Compassionate Awareness book. I am sure they will shed light on your inner journey and support you in your process.
